Foundations for Life Centre

“We have tried to create a family environment where our youngsters can develop their autonomy. They learn how to be a family, how to share things, understand and help each other. We want to keep this family and make them feel useful and proud of our community." Quote from Vascilica Croitoru (Head of the FFLC) |
In 2008 the BHRG opened the Foundations For Life Centre on the first floor of the Robert Cole building to provide for teenagers graduating from the centre. Some of these young people live in institutions and the aims of this centre are to provide friendship and a social outlet for youngsters who would otherwise remain in their home or institution on a daily basis and be completely isolated from the community. This enables strong and supportive bonds of friendship to develop.
Activities include preparing and cooking meals, sports, dance and handicraft, all of which are undertaken on a regular basis as well as personal hygiene instruction, and vocational training and independence building.
